Lettuce Farm Specializes in, well, Lettuce!

Instead of offering a grocery store amount of produce, we wanted to focus on a few items that we find very useful in everyday life.  A mix of premium lettuce, farm fresh eggs and basil.  One benefit from fresh lettuce is the taste, its not bitter.
Why leaf type lettuce?  Well being a mother of 2, I want my kids to eat the most nutritious foods I can find.  Leaf lettuce has by far more nutrition than Iceberg.  This is due to the leaves being more loose and open to absorb sunlight than tight growing heads of lettuce like Iceberg.

  • You will never eat iceberg and romaine again after you try this lettuce. Flavor, crispness and freshness that will exceed your expectations. If you wondered if you could ever get excited about lettuce, try our lettuce in your next salad and you will become a believer.

  • Look for salad greens that are richer in color, dark green or dark red for example. Iceberg lettuce has little nutritional value and little color, little to no flavor.

Kale
Known a a "super food" kale adds a little something to everyone's diet. We grow Red Russian and Toscano (dinosaur) kale.

Swiss Chard
Swiss chard is a dark leafy green, with stalks that appear similar to celery, but taste much sweeter.  The stalks range in colors from vivid pinks to oranges to white.

Spinach
Tender, crisp leaves are best eaten raw in salads, juiced, or added to warm dishes. My favorite is to add it to my eggs in the morning.

Eggs

We got some dedicated ladies working for you. Our feathered friends get plenty of pasture to freely roam around every day.

Microgreens

Microgreens offer a punch of flavor wrapped in a tiny package. The tender "micro" plants are full of nutrients and flavor harvested before the plants gain their true leaves. Try our rainbow mix, a great addition to any green salad or sandwich!

Pea Shoots

These shoots taste just like a mature pea pod! Full of flavor eaten by the handful or added as a garnish, pea shoots are a great addition to your diet.

Types of Basil
Sweet
Basil

Fresh Basil on a homemade pizza can't be beat. Just remember to add it towards the end of cooking, so you don't lose any of the flavor. The leaves are not the only part of basil used in culinary applications, the flower buds have a more subtle flavor and they are edible.
Basil oil has potent antioxidant, antiviral, and antimicrobial properties.

Dried Basil can not compare to fresh. The process of drying Basil, in turn removes lots of its flavor.

Patty pan Squash

A cute sunburst shaped summer squash known for a sweeter flavor than most zucchini varieties, adds something different to your vegetable staples. Delicious eaten raw in salads or cooked into stir-fries, soups, or roasted.
